Carver construction: Town hall meeting set for Oct. 9

The Facilities Development & Capital Budget Office  at Western Washington University will present an informational meeting on the Carver Academic Renovation project from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in Haggard Hall Room 253.

Project construction updates have already appeared in Western Today and MyWestern and those on campus have likely already seen or heard the remarkable progress the contractor has already made on the current demolition phase. At the town hall meeting, Facilities Development staff will present project scope, scheduling and construction impact information. Mortensen contractor representatives and Western staff from Public Safety, Parking and the Environmental Health and Safety Departments will be available to answer questions in their respective areas.

This nearly two-year project will require flexibility and a hefty dose of cooperation from the entire campus community. Please take advantage of this opportunity to learn more.

The presentation by FDCB will be posted on the FDCB website for those who are unable to attend.

Work activities this week include:

  • Continued demolition of central corridor
  • Continued site demolition, clearing and stripping top soil
