Campus Advisory: Lewd Conduct Near Campus

The Bellingham Police and University Police officers responded to a report of male masturbating on the deck outside an apartment in the 3100 block of Ferry Avenue about 11:30 p.m. last night (Wednesday, Aug. 1). The suspect was described as a white male, average build, wearing dark clothing including long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. He had a bandana covering his face, with only his eyes visible. He fled in an unknown direction.

Officers conducted a search of the area, including the area around the Birnam Wood Apartments, with the assistance of a K-9 unit but did not locate the suspect.

Area residents are advised to be sure your doors and windows are secured and to contact the Bellingham Police at 911, or the University Police at x3911 from a campus phone (650-3911) immediately if you see suspicious persons or activities on or near the WWU campus.
