BELLINGHAM – More than 150 costumed Western Washington University students will be waiting to welcome local trick-or-treaters in the Ridgeway University Residences complex from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30.

All of Ridgeway’s community lounges will be decorated in fun, safe, age-appropriate themes aimed at children ages 4-12. Groups of trick-or-treaters will be taken, along with their required adult escort, on tours of the complex’s various themed locations, with the total tour taking about 30 minutes to complete; a member of Western’s Residence Life student staff or a Ridgeway complex resident will lead each tour.

Last year’s activities included candy collecting, pumpkin painting, foam-sword duels with Capt. Jack Sparrow, fortune telling, and even a visit to Hogwarts with a chance to sit before its legendary Sorting Hat. Come see what fun new adventures this year brings! More than 100 children participated in this event last year, and organizers are hoping to double that number this year.
