Just a reminder to submit a new Form W-4 for 2017 if your marital status or withholding allowances have changed or will change for the New Year.  You can update your Form W-4 on Web4U by following these instructions:

• Click on the “Employee” tab
• Click on “Tax Forms”
• Click on “W-4 Tax Exemptions/Allowances”
• Click “Update”

• More detailed instructions on completing your W-4 can be found by clicking on “Help”

The University is open on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016. Although classes are not in session that day, the University remains open. Staff should follow normal leave reporting procedures if they will not be working on that day.

While Bellingham in the summer is a glorious thing, Bellingham in the fall is spectacular. Those craggy peaks of the Canadian mountains – usually hazy on the horizon – now appear in laser-sharp focus on clear days. I can look outside my window getting ready for work, and without any extra early-rising effort at all, delight in watching the deep indigo of the sky gradually lighten into a sunrise.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced that the 2017 social security wage base will be $127,200, which is an increase of $8,700 from $118,500 in 2016.  What this means is that wages paid to an employee in excess of $127,200 in 2017 won’t be taxed for social security.

Phase one of the PageUp Talent Management implementation is well underway and is expected to go live in winter quarter 2017. Phase one includes the Applicant Tracking System (recruiting) and the onboarding modules, and will replace our current Novus/EASE system.
