Caribbean forum continues on campus with last two events today

Ernesto Sagás, an associate professor of ethnic studies at Colorado State University, spoke on the WWU campus Oct. 7 as part of the Inter-American/Caribbean Forums.

The last two events in the series take place today on the Western Washington University campus. The inaugural series of talks and film screenings have highlighted life, culture and history in the Caribbean.

The first of today's events is "Haiti in the World: Rethinking the Role of the International Community," presented by Michele Wucker, executive director of the World Policy Institute, from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Fairhaven College Auditorium. Wucker will discuss Haiti's hitory of coups, violence, corruption and devastating storms and ask how the international community can help. This lecture is also part of the World Issues Forum at WWU.

The second of today's events in a discussion titled "International Connections/Collaboration, the World Policy Institute and WWU," which will take place at 4 p.m. in College Hall Room 131.
