Avenue Bread now available in Miller Market on campus

University Dining Services at Western Washington University is working with Bellingham’s Avenue Bread to increase the amount of fresh, local food available on campus. The WWU community can now find Avenue Bread’s fresh, locally made sandwiches, salads and pastries at Miller Market on campus.

Avenue Bread has three bakery cafés located in Bellingham. Committed to sustainability and supporting the local economy, the company uses locally and sustainably sourced ingredients whenever possible.

The newly available sandwiches, all made on fresh-baked bread, include the Turkey Pesto, Ham & Cheese, Garden Deluxe, Baja Ciaboagie, The Big Cheese and Egg Salad. Customers will also find Avenue Bread’s gourmet and house Salads, as well as snack packs, such as The Meddie, with fresh vegetables and hummus. The pastries being offered include Cream Cheese Danish, Scones, Croissants, Cookies and a Savory Pesto Goat Cheese Twist.

Simply To Go items, such as sandwiches, entrée salads and yogurt parfaits, are no longer available at Miller Market, but can be found at other University Dining Services locations, such as Viking Union Market and The Atrium. Simply To Go items are made on campus.

Miller Market is located at Western Washington University’s Red Square and is open Monday through Friday during the regular academic session. Questions and comments are welcome in person, by phone to (360) 650-2970 or via the Dining Services online comment form.
