AS Women's Center to hold meet-and-greet for students at 7 p.m. today, Oct. 13

The Associated Students Women’s Center is hosting a meet-and-greet event for students at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, in Viking Union Room 565.

“The Feminist Connection” is the Women’s Center’s way of exposing students to greater community resources. This is a meet-and-greet event where each attending organization/program will be able to share what they do and how they can be a resource for students.

The organizations the Women’s Center has invited have various focuses, including helping survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, empowering female-identified people in music and in recreation and giving space for others who advocate for women’s rights and to end violence.

LadyFest, Western Men Against Violence, WomenCare Shelter and Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services are just a few of the organizations from Bellingham and Western’s campus to be involved in the event.

The Feminist Connection is an opportunity for students to meet each other, meet outside organizations and learn about ways to utilize their resources, seek help, or volunteer and become involved in the community.

For more information about the event, or for disability accommodations, contact Lizzie Lamb, Associated Students Women’s Center coordinator by phone at 360.650.6114 or by e-mail at as.rop.women@wwu.edu.
