Elect-Her is a training that will discuss the need for women to run for elected office. The training will encourage young women to consider running for the AS Board of Directors in Spring 2013 and in future elections on and off campus.  Speakers will include staff from the American Association of University Women, State Representative Kris Lytton, Congressperson Suzan DelBene as well as current and former members of the AS Board of Directors. Join us to learn:

  • ·         Why you should considering running for elected office here at Western and beyond.
  • ·         How to develop a successful campaign team and message
  • ·         How to run for the AS Board of Directors
  •

This event is geared towards female-identified students, but anyone is encouraged to attend.  Even if students aren’t currently interested in running for office, the event is a great opportunity for students to learn about women in politics, networking, and effective communication.
Registration should be submitted by February 17th, but will be accepted after that if space is available.   Attendance will be capped at 50 participants.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided!

This event is sponsored by the Associated Students Women's Center, Representation and Engagement Program, Western Votes, Board of Directors and the American Association of University Women.
