Art students to hold fundraising art sale April 29

A group of Western Washington University students will host a series of events in order to raise funds for a trip to New York City, including a “Flash Sale” from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29 in Western’s Fine Arts building, room 213.

While in New York, students will visit commercial galleries, unique site-specific installations, and major institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Art and Design, MoMA, the Guggenheim and the 911 Memorial Museum.

The Flash Sale includes a wide variety of student artwork including small crafts, prints and drawings. Size and price depend on the work. Cash or check payments are accepted. Students represented in the sale are: Beaudry Allen, Bailey Carrell, Minerva Dimla, Melissa Hand, Rebekkah James, David Johnston, Julie McPheters, Ella Ordona, Kameron Peck, Hannah Pylate, Celeste Siebenbaum and Maxwell Singler.

The students will host three more events this spring, with locations to be announced: a second art sale on May 20; Portraits Day, June 13 during graduation; and an Art Walk Exhibition June 5.
