Sanford-Hill Piano Series 10th season brings acclaimed artists to perform on campus

The College of Fine and Performing Arts of Western Washington University hosted its 10th season of performances by acclaimed pianists.

In addition to the performances, the Sanford-Hill Piano Series guests conducted master classes for students and members of the public.

The performers who came to Western for the Sanford-Hill Series in 2012-13 included:

Haochen Zhang, both a soloist and chamber musician, who recently performed a benefit concert with the Tokyo String Quartet and with the Shanghai Quartet as part of the Mountain Music Festival in the Berkshires. He is a winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.

Alessio Bax, who  won his gold medal at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2000 and is an Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient.

Denis Kozhukhin, Winner of the First Prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, he won the Prix d’Honneur in 2003.
