CBE draws top executives to campus for the Strategic Management Executive Strategy Speaker Series

The College of Business and Economics’ Strategic Management Executive Strategy Speaker Series brings senior business leaders to campus as guest lecturers in the capstone Strategic Management course. The speaker series is presented by the CBE’s Center for Excellence in Management Education.

The speakers also interact with undergraduates and MBA students to talk about various topics in the business and economic world.

Speakers in 2012-13 included:

Steven Windell, whose career of more than 48 years has emphasized business turnaround or startup, with emphasis on the human factor and fact-based decision making. He served as CFO for R.W. Beck and Associates where his responsibilities included accounting, finance, information systems, human resources, and risk management.

David Garets, senior advisor at The Advisory Board Company and principal member at Mountain Summit Advisors.

Stephen Barrett, a retired executive with over 35 years of experience in the electric power industry. Barrett began his career in 1972 with Southern California Edison.

Buzz Abercrombie, a retired executive in the steel, aluminum and plastics industries around the world. 

Matthew Dunn, chief explainer of Say It Visually!

J.B. Silvers, the John R. Mannix Medical Mutual of Ohio Professor of Healthcare Finance at the Case Weatherhead School of Management and School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. 

Duane Schireman, director of Strategic Workforce Planning at The Boeing Co.
