Award-winning designer gives keynote address at annual WWU portfolio exhibition

Seattle designer Roy Matich will give a presentation at noon on Friday, June 8, in room 130 of the Science, Math and Technology (SMATE) building on the Western Washington University campus.
The presentation is free and open to the public.


As the keynote speaker for the Design Department’s annual portfolio exhibition, Matich will show his own work and address the graduating seniors. A graduate of the Alberta School of Art + Design, Matich has held positions at marchFIRST, Razorfish, Saltmine, Fitch and Starbucks. He currently serves as the executive dreative director at Cypress Consulting, a full-service digital branding firm whose clients include Adidas, Amazon, Comcast, Microsoft, NBA, and Sony. The firm is widely lauded for their solutions, creating seamless interactive experiences across the web, mobile, tablet, console and connected television platforms.


Following Matich’s presentation, the annual portfolio exhibition will be open to the public from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the SMATE foyer. Portfolios from the 48 graduating seniors will be on display with digital portfolios available for viewing in the five accompanying lecture rooms.
