After-hours parking permits available for faculty and staff with bus passes

Applications are still open for faculty and staff after-hours parking permits, which are being mailed beginning this week.

The after-hours permit is available to Western Washington University faculty and staff who have purchased a WWU bus pass. An employee cannot have any other permit that already covers the times these permits allow parking (i.e., employees may not have an additional permit with the same access privileges).

Permits will be valid fall, winter and spring quarters (Sept. 24 to June 24), assuming that WWU employee bus pass fee has been paid for the quarter(s) the permit is in use. Drivers are subject to being cited if their permits are being used without payment having been made for that quarter.

For more information, contact Parking Services.

Details:

  • The after-hours permit is valid from 4:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and all hours on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Permits will be honored only in lots 5G, 7G, 10G, 11G, 14G, 17G and 19G.
  • Permits are not valid at meters, reserved spaces or in lots reserved for an event.
  • Permits may not be transferred, sold or given to anyone.
  • A new permit will be required for summer quarter (June 25 to Sept. 23). The parking website will be updated in May of 2013 with additional information.
  • Any attempt to alter, forge, or reproduce this permit will automatically void the permit, and any vehicle with such a permit will be subject to citation, impound/boot fees and revocation of WWU parking privileges.
  • For a permit to be considered valid, it must be hanging from the rear-view mirror facing the windshield or face-up on the dash (driver’s side, with permit number visible).
  • A $6 replacement fee will be charged for a lost permit.
  • A stolen permit should be reported right away.
